In her book, ‘Private DREAMS of Public People’, author Lauren Lawrence discloses Paul McCartney’s musical dream, and it’s a doozy. In fact, he dreamed the famous song melody, “Yesterday.”
“It came in a dream unto me. Only the music. So I thought, that’s a good tune…I wonder what that is…And I had piano by my bed…I blocked it out.”
The Beatle says he showed it to his friends and he still couldn’t believe he’d written it…It was complete. The words took a little longer, he says, “but the tune itself came just complete…out of a dream.”
The author/psychologistLawrence analyzes this dream as a “discovery.” She says Paul’s dream reveals that inspirational energies don’t sleep at night, “but rather come alive like fireworks of the imagination.”
But there’s another explanation – and it’s that his dream was Supranormal, i.e. Psychic. Either his dream was telepathically messaged to him by an unknown entity, or the melody already existed and he heard it (clairaudient) in his subconscious.
DISCOVERY DREAMS and PSYCHIC DREAMS
Discovery dreams are uncommon, but here are two more famous examples.
Robert Louis Stevenson reportedly dreamed the plot and contents of ‘The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”, while Dmitiri Mendeleev dreamed tthe complete version of the Periodic Table of Elements.
So, yes, those are all discoveries – but what are their roots? And did they exist in another time before they found their way back to the dreamers?
“Yesterday,” perhaps even the title is a clue about the melody being a clairaudient dream for Paul. Especially if we believe the theory, Time is an illusion “emerging from quantum entanglement and observation”.
