IVANA TRUMP’S DREAM

I didn’t realize when I picked up the book, ‘Private Dreams Of Public People’, I would soon be writing about dreams and how they are sometimes (or often) precognitive.

I was attracted to the book by the many dreamers listed on the jacket’s flap – Andy Warhol, Kurt Vonnegut, Elvis Presley, and so many more iconic figures – including the late Ivana Trump.

I thought, 24 years after publication, the book might have recorded some of the prescient/clairvoyant dreams of the famed.

I STARTED WITH IVANA’S DREAM

A bit of backstory: Ivana was divorced from Donald in 1992. The Dream book I found was published in 2002 -20 years before she fell down a long flight of winding, spiral stairs of her home and died. She was 73.

The dream she recounted in the book had her competing in Skiing in the Winter Olympics, hitting the slopes at 100 miles per hour, and leaving her team behind. “I was completely alone on the slopes, and felt free as a bird, soaring through the air without a care in the world, and of course knowing I had won the gold medal.” Her three children were cheering her win in the dream, she said, and, to her surprise, she was awakened from the dream by them and her two dogs.

It might not be as big a stretch as one might think to believe PSI was involved. as,in the dream, Ivana recalled she had been soaring – free of care – to the bottom of an Olympic mountain slope (perhaps a premonition of how she’d feel in death at the bottom of her steep, TownHouse stairs). The significance of her dream and her unfulfilled Olympic race-wish is not lost on me. She had soared, but was, at last, free.

I excited to read more dreams from more luminarias to see if their dreams might have presaged their futures – or enlightened their pasts. I guess it depends on how well they’ve synced with their subconscious: the Ruler of all Dreams.
