PSYCHIC: By the Book

A typical vintage book

‘Be Your Own Psychic,’ based on the Edgar Cayce Readings, is one of countless vintage books (mainly from the 1890s or 1970s) on Psychic abilities. There are also many vintage books written by and about contemporary and historic psychics, and we will be looking at them later on.

This 1975 book, by two unknown writers, has a religious bent, with many biblical citations, based on selected Edgar Cayce’s readings. The book’s language is archaic and not entirely reflective of how the great Kentuckian Seer explained his Knowing in his own words.

There are hundreds of other better vintage, How-to-Be books; some, like this one, based on Cayce’s 14,000 documented readings, and others on topics ranging from dreams, to healings, to reincarnation to Lemuria.

There is no doubt Edgar Cayce was the greatest Psychic of our time. Born in 1877, he didn’t discover his Supra Sense, until 1900 when he went to a hypnotist for help with a severe sore throat doctors couldn’t cure. While hypnotized, he diagnosed his pain as acute laryngitis and saw how to cure it. From that point on, “The Sleeping Prophet,” as he was known, while in trance, began diagnosing desperate people’s ailments and diseases. As his successes grew, doctors from around the country began consulting with him on difficult cases.

Edgar Cayce is perhaps the best example of a humanistic Clairvoyant, using his psychic ability to help people in health and emotional crisis. He never charged for a Reading, but later on, accepted donations to help create his non-profit, the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.),The A.R.E supported his work, and donations also helped build The Cayce Hospital, which closed during The Great Depression. But today, The A.R.E., offers resources to the public on Spirituality, Holistic Health and Psychic info in Virginia Beach.

If you’d like to know more about Cayce, the best book about his life and times is ‘There Is A River’ by Thomas Sugrue, published in 1942 by Holt.

Always Remember: Psychics are fallible. Even Edgar Cayce’s Readings weren’t 100%. And mine aren’t either.

PSYCHIC NOTE #2 – You don’t need an Eagle eye or a Bull’s eye to watch the unraveling patterns of deception, degradation and denial going on around us. Because the Tide is Turning. A warning to those who’ve closed their eyes to depravity and despair. Reckoning is coming.
